* Gerunds after some verbs.
A. Tag - Questions :
Ex: You speak English, don`t you?
We use tag questions at the end of statements
(lời phát biểu) to ask for confirmation (xác nhận).
* The basic structure is:
Don’t
aren’t we ?
1. Complete the dialogues with the correct tag.
a) Jim : You have read this article on the website, ...........................
haven’t you ?
Linda: Not yet.
b) Minh: Baird produced the first TV picture in 1926, .............................
didn’t he ?
Thao: Yes he did.
c) Thu: A daily newspaper was published in Germany in 1550, ..................
wasn’t it ?
Tri: No, it wasn’t. it was in 1650
d) Ha: You don’t like playing computer games, .......................

Thanh: Yes, I do. But I don’t have much time for it.
e) Mai: We are going to have cable TV soon,........................
2. Ask and answer questions about Tv programs
these people like and dislike. Use tag questions:

Example:
a) A : Tuan likes news, ........................

B : Yes, he does.
b) A : Mai and Anh don’t like news,......................

B : No, they don’t.
B. Gerunds :
Động danh từ
Example: I dislike eating.
I enjoy playing chess.
* Gerunds after some verbs
like, love, enjoy, hate, dislike, deny,

finish, mind, miss, suggest,...
like, love, enjoy, hate + V-ing
3. Work with a partner. Ask and answer about each
item in the box:
Do you like playing soccer ?
Yes, I do.
No, I don’t
Do you enjoy fishing ?
Yes, I love it
I don’t know.
I never tried it.
4. Use the words in the three boxes to write true sentences
about your patterns, siblings, relatives, friends and yourself.
Ex: My father likes watching sports but my mother doesn’t.
She loves listening to music.
